Job Description

Steel Fabricator - Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reading Drawings & Blueprints

Interpret technical drawings, plans, and fabrication diagrams. Understand specifications related to dimensions, materials, and joints.

2. Measuring and Cutting Materials

Accurately measure and mark steel sections (angles, pipes, channels, flats). Cut materials using cutting torches, grinders, saws, or CNC machines.

3. Drilling and Welding

Drill holes for bolts or fasteners as per drawing. Weld parts using MIG, TIG, or arc welding methods. Ensure proper welding techniques and penetration as per job needs.

4. Assembling Steel Components

Fit and tack-weld steel parts into the required assembly. Align structures or frames before final welding.

5. Fabrication and Pre-Assembly

Fabricate trusses, purlins, columns, or beams in workshop or on-site. Use jigs or clamps to hold parts in place during welding.

6. Erection and Installation

Assist in lifting and fixing steel structures at the construction site. Align trusses and structural members properly during erection. Use cranes, scaffolding, and other lifting tools safely.

7. Surface Preparation and Painting

Clean and grind welded joints and surfaces. Apply red oxide or epoxy primer and paint if required.

8. Maintenance of Tools and Equipment

Maintain fabrication tools, welding machines, and cutting gear. Ensure tools are clean, calibrated, and safe to use.

9. Safety and Compliance

Follow safety guidelines for welding, cutting, and lifting. Use PPE: gloves, helmet, face shield, apron, safety shoes. Comply with site safety rules and fire safety protocols.

10. Reporting and Coordination

Report work status to supervisors or site engineers. Collaborate with other fabricators, welders, and helpers. Keep track of materials used and fabrication progress.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
