Role Overview



The Mess Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school mess, ensuring hygienic food preparation, timely meal service, proper inventory management, and smooth coordination with kitchen staff. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, quality, and discipline.

Key Responsibilities1. Mess Operations & Supervision



Supervise and coordinate daily mess activities, including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals as per the menu. Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, dining area, and storage rooms. Monitor food quality, taste, and portion control regularly.

2. Staff Management



Supervise mess staff, including cooks, helpers, and cleaning personnel. Prepare staff duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower for each shift. Conduct regular briefings and training sessions on hygiene, food safety, and discipline. Address staff concerns and maintain a disciplined working environment.

3. Inventory & Procurement



Maintain stock records of groceries, vegetables, milk, and other consumables. Coordinate with vendors for timely procurement of quality raw materials. Conduct daily/weekly inventory checks and prevent wastage. Verify invoices and submit them for payment processing.

4. Student & Staff Coordination



Address feedback or issues raised by students and staff regarding food quality or service. Plan and coordinate special menus for events, festivals, or school functions.

5. Compliance & Safety



Ensure compliance with FSSAI guidelines and school food safety policies. Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure safe operational practices. Maintain records of temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and material usage.

6. Reporting & Administration



Prepare monthly consumption reports and budget estimates. Record daily attendance of mess staff. Report any operational issues to the Administration Department.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
