. This role involves supervising kitchen and service staff, ensuring meal quality and hygiene standards, monitoring inventory, and reporting daily performance.
You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth meal service for hundreds of students and faculty, while maintaining cleanliness, discipline, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
A. Daily Kitchen & Service Supervision
Ensure timely preparation and distribution of meals (breakfast, lunch, evening tea, dinner)
Supervise kitchen staff, counter boys, and utensil cleaning staff
Conduct daily team briefing and assign responsibilities
Address immediate issues with food quality, cleanliness, or student feedback
B. Meal Hygiene & Quality Control
Conduct taste checks and ensure food presentation standards
Monitor hygiene of kitchen area, storage, service counters, and staff uniforms
Coordinate with warden/hostel authorities for feedback and meal timing compliance
C. Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain daily usage and balance records of raw materials
Prevent wastage and leakage through routine stock checks
Inform procurement team or head chef regarding shortages in advance
D. Documentation & Reporting
Submit daily report to company leadership (via WhatsApp/Email) with:
Headcount served
Meal feedback
Staff attendance
Leftover summary
Maintain digital or manual checklists for cleaning, hygiene, and inventory
E. Staff Conduct & Performance Tracking
Maintain discipline and professionalism among all staff
Track monthly performance of each team member for reward eligibility
Ensure proper onboarding of new staff as per SOPs
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience supervising mess/canteen/kitchen operations
Strong leadership and coordination skills
Basic knowledge of Excel or digital record-keeping
Willingness to work in hostel/campus-based environments
Hindi communication required; basic English preferred
