Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures specific to MEP operations.
Ensure compliance with national and local safety regulations, including electrical safety and fire safety standards.
Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements for all MEP tasks.
2. Site Monitoring & Risk Control
Conduct daily site inspections for MEP works (HVAC, electrical panels, cable laying, plumbing, fire-fighting systems).
Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures.
Ensure Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures are strictly followed during electrical work.
3. Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct induction and refresher training for MEP teams and contractors.
Train workers on electrical safety, working at height, confined space entry, hot-work procedures, etc.
Organize safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
4. Incident Management
Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents related to MEP activities.
Prepare incident reports and implement root cause corrective action (RCCA).
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain safety logs, inspection records, and compliance checklists.
Ensure all MEP tools, machinery, and electrical equipment are certified and safe to operate.
Coordinate with statutory bodies for inspection and compliance.
6. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with MEP engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure safety in the execution of works.
Participate in client meetings and provide updates on safety performance.
Ensure PPE compliance and enforcement across all shifts.
