to lead and oversee all MEP works for a high-profile resort construction project in the Maldives. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and coordination skills to ensure that all MEP systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in line with project requirements, international standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
Develop and implement MEP execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with civil and structural works.
Execution & Supervision
Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
Ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Quality & Compliance
Implement QA/QC procedures for MEP works, including inspections, testing, and commissioning.
Ensure adherence to international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, etc.) and local regulations.
Commercial & Contractual
Review subcontractor agreements, monitor performance, and certify payments.
Manage variations, claims, and ensure cost-effective delivery of MEP works.
Problem-Solving & Risk Management
Identify technical challenges and propose practical solutions.
Mitigate risks related to MEP installations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of MEP activities, test results, and as-built documentation.
Provide regular progress and technical reports to senior management and client representatives.
Leadership
Lead and mentor the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (Master's preferred).
Minimum
10-12 years of experience
in MEP management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in
hospitality/resort or large-scale construction projects
.
Strong knowledge of international MEP standards, codes, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and project management software.
Ability to work in remote island environments and multicultural teams.
