Role Description
We are hiring a
MEP Engineer
for our
civil engineering restoration project at Chennai
. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety protocols, conducting site safety audits, educating the workforce on safe practices, and coordinating with our core team to maintain a secure working environment on heritage sites.
Responsibilities
Plan, supervise, and execute MEP works (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting systems) in line with project specifications and heritage conservation practices.
Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation, quality, and functionality of all MEP systems.
Ensure MEP activities comply with statutory regulations, industry codes, and company safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, restoration specialists, and contractors to integrate MEP services seamlessly into heritage structures.
Review and interpret MEP drawings, BOQs, technical documents, and installation guidelines.
Identify technical issues, design conflicts, or site constraints and propose practical, preservation-friendly solutions.
Monitor and maintain documentation including technical reports, inspection records, test certificates, and material approvals.
Oversee testing and commissioning of MEP systems and ensure proper handover procedures.
Ensure adherence to fire safety protocols, electrical safety standards, and energy-efficient MEP practices at the site.
Support non-invasive, heritage-sensitive installation methods to protect existing structures.
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
3-5 years of experience
in MEP execution, preferably within construction, restoration, or heritage projects.
Strong understanding of MEP standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes (IS standards, NBC, etc.).
Ability to prepare technical reports, inspection checklists, and resolve MEP-related site issues.
ERP or digital documentation experience preferred.
Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail with an appreciation for working in heritage-sensitive environments.
