The MEP Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and reviewing
Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)
systems for residential and commercial construction projects handled by Town and City Developers. The role ensures that all designs meet project requirements, cost efficiency, safety standards, and statutory compliances.
HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Low Voltage systems

Review architectural and structural drawings to develop integrated MEP design solutions.
Perform load calculations, heat load, electrical load, water demand, pump sizing, and pressure drop analysis.
Create MEP layouts, BOQs, schematics, riser diagrams, and specifications.
2. Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, and project engineers.
Ensure design alignment with the project's functional and aesthetic requirements.
Review shop drawings, design submittals, and as-built drawings from contractors.
Document revisions and maintain design records.
3. Compliance & Standards
Ensure MEP designs comply with
NBC, IS codes, Tamil Nadu building bye-laws
, and safety regulations.
Follow energy efficiency standards and green building guidelines where applicable.
4. Vendor & Contractor Support
Evaluate technical aspects of MEP vendor proposals.
Provide engineering support during MEP installation.
Approve materials and equipment based on specifications.
5. Site Support
Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design and quality standards.
Identify and resolve technical design issues at the project site.
6. Costing & Budgeting
Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and value engineering proposals.
Optimize MEP design for cost-effectiveness without compromising safety and functionality.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and low voltage design.
Hands-on experience with
AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Dialux
or similar design tools.
Good understanding of construction workflows in residential and commercial projects.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of project management tools is an added advantage.
