Dementia India Alliance (DIA) is seeking motivated and compassionate Psychologists / Neuropsychologists to join its DemClinic initiative, focused on early identification, assessment, and care coordination for persons with dementia and related cognitive disorders.
This role involves a blend of clinical assessment, community-based screening, caregiver support, and training, along with contributing to program-related research, data analysis, and evidence generation, working closely with clinicians and partner organisations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in research activities including data collection, data cleaning, and statistical analysis and interpretation related to dementia screening and care outcomes
Support literature reviews by screening research papers, organising reviews, and documenting findings
Maintain accurate research and clinical data records to support project monitoring, evaluation, and compliance
Contribute to preparation of internal reports, presentations, and research outputs for program and stakeholder use
Conduct memory and cognitive screening using standardised protocols following project training
Prepare screening reports and clinical documentation
Coordinate with neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, and other clinicians for referrals and care planning
Support persons with dementia and their families through counselling, care planning, follow-ups, and linkage to services
Participate as a resource person in caregiver training programs, awareness sessions, and capacity-building activities
Travel to partner hospitals, community sites, and outreach locations as required
Qualifications & Experience
Master's degree in
Psychology, Neuropsychology, Public Health, Social Work, Community Health, Epidemiology, or other
allied health sciences
with demonstrated relevance to
mental health, geriatrics, or cognitive disorders
1-2 years of relevant experience
in mental health, geriatrics, neurology, or related settings
1-2 years of relevant experience
in research methods, data handling, or academic projects.
Candidates with
training or exposure to neuropsychological assessment, dementia care, or cognitive disorders
will be preferred
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in a minimum of two South Indian languages (Kannada preferred)
Experience working with large or multi-site datasets
Familiarity with unique IDs, anonymisation, and data tracking systems
Understanding of data quality checks and error resolution
Strong ability to analyse quantitative data and interpret findings for clinical and programmatic use
Understanding of statistical methods including descriptive statistics, inferential testing, and basic modeling
Proficiency in SPSS and/or R for data analysis
Familiarity with survey and data collection platforms (REDCap, Qualtrics, Kobo, Google Forms)
Exposure to qualitative analysis tools (NVivo, ATLAS.ti)
Working knowledge of evidence synthesis platforms including Covidence and Rayyan for screening, tagging, and review workflows
Basic data visualisation skills (charts, dashboards, summaries)
Reference management tools (Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote)
Strong clinical observation, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work sensitively with older adults and families
Comfort working in community and hospital-based settings
Willingness to travel within and outside the city for project activities
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Technological proficiency, especially in MS Excel and basic digital tools
