CT/MRI Typist

, often called a

Radiology Typist

Medical Typist

, is responsible for transcribing medical reports related to diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. The role involves converting dictated audio files or physician's notes into accurate and properly formatted written reports. Key Responsibilities

Transcription:

Accurately type medical reports from audio recordings or notes provided by radiologists and other healthcare providers.

Documentation:

Ensure all documentation follows medical terminology standards and compliance requirements, maintaining clarity and precision.

Data Entry:

Enter patient information, medical history, and test details into the hospital's Electronic Health Record (EHR) or a laboratory information system.

Collaboration:

Coordinate with doctors, radiologists, and technicians to clarify information and ensure timely report delivery.

Quality Assurance:

Spell-check and proofread reports to ensure high accuracy (often requiring >98% accuracy) before they are finalized and issued to patients.

Administration:

Assist in maintaining patient records, organizing imaging data, and handling queries related to medical reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience:

Prior experience in medical transcription, specifically in a radiology or diagnostic imaging department, is highly desirable.

Typing Proficiency:

Strong typing skills, often requiring a speed of at least 40 words per minute (WPM).

Medical Knowledge:

Proficiency in medical and radiological terminology is essential to accurately transcribe complex findings.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is crucial to avoid errors that could impact patient diagnosis and treatment.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with computer systems, medical transcription software, and electronic health records.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
