Position: Medical Transcriptionist

Job Summary

The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for listening to and transcribing dictated medical notes by doctors and other healthcare professionals. This role ensures accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of patient records, clinical summaries, discharge notes, and other medical reports.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transcription & Documentation

Listen to voice recordings from physicians and convert them into written medical documents. Prepare and edit medical reports such as: OP/IP notes Discharge summaries Diagnostic reports Clinical histories Operative notes Ensure all transcriptions follow medical terminology, grammar, and formatting standards.
2. Editing & Quality Assurance

Review and correct drafts created by speech-recognition software. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of medical documentation. Identify and clarify inconsistencies, missing information, or errors.
3. Confidentiality & Data Security

Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient medical records. Follow hospital policies on data protection and privacy.
4. Coordination & Support

Communicate with doctors, nurses, and medical staff to verify unclear information when needed. Support the Medical Records Department in organizing and updating documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Medical Transcription / Life Sciences preferred. Certification in medical transcription is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medications. Excellent listening and typing skills (high typing speed preferred). Good command over English grammar and medical vocabulary. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and speech-recognition software.

Experience

1-3 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist preferred. Freshers with good training and certification may also apply.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,608.56 - ₹22,989.18 per month
