Job Description

Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for listening to audio recordings from healthcare professionals and accurately converting them into written medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents. They ensure medical terminology, grammar, and confidentiality are maintained while producing high-quality transcriptions. Medical Transcriptionists play a key role in supporting healthcare documentation, enabling smooth communication between doctors, hospitals, and insurance providers, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Listen to medical dictations and accurately transcribe spoken words. Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software. Ensure accuracy of medical terminology, abbreviations, and drug names. Maintain confidentiality of all patient-related information and records. Proofread transcriptions for grammar, punctuation, and formatting consistency. Collaborate with physicians for clarification of unclear dictations. Keep updated with medical terminologies and transcription standards. Submit completed reports within defined timelines and accuracy standards.

Skill & Experience

Excellent listening and comprehension skills for accurate transcription work. Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in transcription software and Microsoft Office tools. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.
