Medical Transcriptionists
to join our team and support accurate and timely documentation for patient care.
Job Summary:
The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for transcribing and editing medical reports, treatment notes, discharge summaries, and other healthcare documentation dictated by oncologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with medical and hospital standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe and edit audio recordings from doctors and healthcare staff into accurate written medical documents.
Review, proofread, and ensure the quality of transcribed reports with correct medical terminology.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to
HIPAA
and hospital compliance policies.
Verify patient identifiers and ensure accuracy in medical records.
Collaborate with doctors and nurses to resolve dictation inconsistencies or unclear audio.
Meet daily productivity and turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
Keep updated with oncology-specific medical terms and evolving medical practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma/Certification in Medical Transcription or a related field.
6 months to 3 years of experience in medical transcription (oncology experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of
medical terminology, anatomy, oncology, and pharmacology terms.
Proficiency in transcription software and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
High typing speed (50+ WPM) with accuracy and attention to detail.
Good listening, grammar, and language editing skills.
Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience in a
multi-specialty or oncology hospital
.
Familiarity with
voice recognition software
and editing.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
