The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for accurately transcribing and editing medical reports dictated by doctors and healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. The role ensures timely, error-free clinical documentation while maintaining complete confidentiality of patient records.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe OPD notes, discharge summaries, operative notes, medical histories, referral letters, and investigation reports
Edit and proofread transcribed documents for accuracy, grammar, and correct medical terminology
Ensure proper formatting as per hospital documentation standards
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with medical data security guidelines
Identify inconsistencies and clarify doubts with doctors when required
Upload completed reports into the hospital system within defined TAT
Coordinate with medical, nursing, and administrative staff for documentation support
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Certification or formal training in Medical Transcription
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation
Excellent English typing speed and accuracy
Ability to understand various speech accents
Proficiency in MS Word / Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
High attention to detail and time management skills
