You will be responsible for converting physicians' audio recordings into clear, concise, and error-free written reports while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to medical documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe and edit voice recordings from healthcare providers into accurate medical reports, correspondence, and other documents.
Review and verify patient information to ensure document accuracy.
Ensure all medical terminology, abbreviations, and procedures are correctly used.
Edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software for accuracy and completeness.
Meet established turnaround times and quality standards.
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to clarify dictation or resolve discrepancies.
Stay updated on medical terminology, transcription technology, and documentation best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Transcription (CMT or RMT) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of
2-3 years of experience
as a medical transcriptionist in a clinical or hospital setting.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with transcription software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology.
