Position Overview



The

Medical Social Worker

will play a key role in identifying and connecting with patients who require urgent medical and financial support. This role involves conducting field visits, assessing patient needs, collaborating with hospitals, and helping initiate fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is empathetic, proactive, and deeply committed to serving vulnerable communities.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Identification & Outreach



Identify patients in critical medical condition who require financial assistance for treatment. Conduct field visits to hospitals, clinics, and communities to find eligible cases. Build relationships with medical professionals, social workers, and health institutions to receive timely referrals.

2. Case Assessment & Documentation



Conduct social and financial assessments of patients and their families. Collect medical reports, treatment estimates, and validate case authenticity. Prepare comprehensive case summaries for internal review and fundraising teams.

3. Coordination With Hospitals & Families



Liaise with hospital staff to understand treatment plans and cost breakdowns. Provide guidance and emotional support to patients and their families during difficult periods. Ensure transparent communication regarding fundraising processes and expectations.

4. Support for Fundraising Campaigns



Work closely with the communication and fundraising teams to provide patient stories, photos, and verified information. Assist in monitoring the progress of each patient's fundraising campaign. Follow up with families and hospitals regarding fund usage and treatment updates.

5. Reporting & Monitoring



Maintain accurate and updated records of all patients and cases handled. Prepare periodic reports on field activities, new cases identified, and outcomes. Ensure timely feedback and updates to the management team.

Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. Experience in medical social work, community outreach, or NGO sector preferred.

Key Skills:



Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with vulnerable populations. Good understanding of medical terminology (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to travel frequently for field visits. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
