Job Description

A Medical Receptionist manages front-desk operations in a healthcare setting, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, verifying insurance, updating patient records (EHR/EMR), processing payments/billing, maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA), and coordinating communication between patients and staff, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient patient experience. Key Responsibilities: Patient Interaction: Warmly greet patients and visitors, answer phones, take messages, and address inquiries. Scheduling: Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments, optimizing provider time and room utilization. Administrative Support: Manage patient records, data entry, filing, and maintain office supplies. Financial Tasks: Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, collect payments/copays, and handle basic billing. Confidentiality & Compliance: Strictly follow HIPAA and office privacy policies. Coordination: Liaise with medical staff, arrange referrals, hospital admissions, and lab tests. Essential Skills: Strong Customer Service & Communication Organization & Multitasking Knowledge of Medical Terminology Familiarity with EHR/PMS Software Attention to Detail Professionalism & Compassion Tamil candidates only
