The Technician cum Receptionist plays a dual role in ensuring smooth clinical operations and providing an excellent patient experience. This position handles front-desk responsibilities while also supporting the dermatologist with clinical procedures. The role requires strong communication skills, technical capability, professionalism, and strict adherence to hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Front Desk & Reception Duties
Welcome patients warmly and assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
Manage phone calls, appointment scheduling, and patient inquiries.
Communicate clinic policies, available services, and follow-up requirements.
Maintain patient records in the clinic management system.
Handle billing, payments, insurance information (if applicable), and daily cash reconciliation.
Ensure the reception and waiting area remain clean, sanitized, and organized.
2. Clinical & Technical Assistance
Assist dermatologist during consultations, minor procedures, and cosmetic treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
Guide patients through pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions.
Support with laser procedures, peels, facials, or other dermatology treatments (as trained).
Document clinical details and vital information accurately in patient files.
Perform basic clinical tasks such as dressing changes, suture removal, and applying topical products under supervision.
3. Hygiene, Safety & Equipment Management
Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection control protocols.
Disinfect treatment rooms and high-touch areas after each patient.
Stock and organize clinical supplies, consumables, and front-desk materials.
Conduct routine equipment checks and report any technical issues.
4. Administrative & Coordination Support
Coordinate patient flow between reception and treatment rooms.
Assist in maintaining inventory logs and ordering supplies.
Prepare and manage forms, consent documents, and procedure notes.
Support overall clinic operations to ensure efficiency and professionalism.
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assistant, Nursing, Aesthetic Technician, or equivalent (preferred).
Prior experience in a dermatology/cosmetic/medical clinic is an advantage.
Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
Basic knowledge of dermatology procedures, instruments, and safety protocols.
Proficient with computers and clinic management software.
Professional, well-groomed, patient-friendly, and detail-oriented.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced clinical environment requiring both desk work and hands-on clinical tasks.
Standing for extended periods during procedures.
May require flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts based on clinic needs.
