Job Description

1.

Clinical Responsibilities



Provide round-the-clock medical care and monitoring to ICU patients. Assess and document the clinical condition of patients daily. Implement treatment plans as per the directions of the Intensivist or treating consultant. Perform emergency procedures (e.g., intubation, central line insertion, CPR) when needed and trained for. Monitor and manage life support equipment (ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, etc.). Participate in ICU rounds with the ICU consultant or multidisciplinary team. Ensure timely referral or escalation to specialists when needed.

Documentation & Records



Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient case sheets, electronic medical records (EMR), and ICU charts. Record vitals, medication, nursing notes, and procedures as per NABH documentation standards. Ensure compliance with hospital policies on patient consent, progress notes, discharge summary, and death summary.
3.

Quality & NABH Compliance



Adhere to NABH standards for patient care, infection control, safety, and documentation. Participate in audits, quality assurance programs, and morbidity/mortality meetings. Follow ICU protocols for hand hygiene, biomedical waste management, and infection control. Report all adverse events, near misses, and sentinel events as per NABH guidelines.
4.

Coordination & Communication



Coordinate with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and other support staff for patient care. Communicate effectively with patient relatives while ensuring patient confidentiality. Provide updates on patient condition to the primary consultant or Intensivist.
5.

Training & Continuous Education



Participate in CME programs, ICU drills, mock codes, and training sessions. Stay updated on recent developments in critical care medicine and emergency protocols.

Qualifications & Skills



Education

: MBBS /BAMS Preferred

Experience

: Minimum 2-5 years in ICU department preferred.

Certifications

: BLS and ACLS certified (mandatory).

Skills

: Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Proficient in emergency procedures and ICU protocols. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with NABH standards and documentation practices.

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?65,000.00 per month
