Are you an experienced medical professional and passionate about Medical Affairs? Does being part of a growing, yet dynamic environment excite you? Are you adept in implementing the medical affairs strategy in the country? If yes, then you may be the one we are looking for as Medical Manager for Novo Nordisk India.

The position

As a Medical Manager, you will contribute actively to the implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy in the region/country you are based in. Be a specialist in the therapy area and allotted product/portfolio and other relevant products. You will work in collaboration with commercial teams to drive medical education and scientific dialogue for products and therapy area. You will also facilitate organisational readiness and external scientific advocacy for new product launches in close collaboration with commercial teams. The role will be reporting to the Senior Medical Manager.

You will also be responsible to -

  • Manage and develop high performing regional medical advisors (RMA) team
  • Effective performance management - Goal setting, performance dialogues and timely constructive feedback to RMAs
  • Facilitate and drive a learning culture with a high focus on professional/personal development of all direct reportees
  • Identify and develop high-potential medical affairs professionals and provide platforms for learning and development
  • Responsible for initiating hiring, transfer, promotion and exit actions in AskHr system
  • Responsible for driving Evolve results discussion and action planning and completion in the system
  • Liaise with regional sales, marketing, and compliance to ensure RMA team supports business requirements
  • To ensure coordination of national medical strategies with local strategies on a product/project specific basis to convey a credible and compliant scientific message to the medical community that supports the Sales organisation and Novo Nordisk\'s products.
  • Suggest ideas and implement projects at a regional level in line with HO medical ambitions
  • Maintain strong product & therapy area knowledge for self and RMA team through journal clubs and others
  • Play a vital role in generating insights for newer launches and existing molecules
  • Ensure RMA resource allocation for medical education and guidance activities
  • Guide field interactions in adding scientific value to the visits of RMAs, conduct joint field work with RMAs
  • Ensure RMA wise national and regional KOL mapping and constant scientific engagement. Maintain trackers to provide insights for continuous development
  • Maintain a list of select regional and national KOLs for self and the RMAs. Ensure regular scientific engagement with the listed KOLs
  • Maintain and track the medical advocacy of the KOLs
  • Ensure medical queries are addressed timely by the RMA and off-label medical queries are addressed in a compliant manner
  • Update scientific content, MCQs, role play cases, quiz, etc. with training team for continuous sales scientific empowerment
  • Explore and suggest opportunities to increase professional relationships and stronger collaboration with regional associations and KOLs
  • Identify & engage with regional associations to plan NN symposia + National conference support
  • Review regional and local KOL proposals for CMR Head approval
  • Plan & guide KOL engagement and development for the region
  • ISS support and guidance, ensure timely conduct of titration visits, resource allocation for trial related visits
  • Review independent publication support for CMR Head approval
  • Developing and delivering presentations at local meetings, advisory boards, symposia, and external conferences
Qualifications
  • MD/MS in pharmacology or equivalent (desired) from a reputed institution with minimum 5 years of industry medical affairs experience in diabetes management with or without team management experience
  • Strong scientific knowledge and interest in diabetes diseases and products, good collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as well as good in communication
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with demonstrated experience in analysing complex situations
  • Skills for planning, execution and follow-up is required, with a creative and innovative attitude that will enable you to drive initiatives with operational excellence in mind
