The job responsibilities of a faculty member in a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) program can be quite extensive, encompassing teaching, research, administration, and professional development. Here are some key responsibilities typically associated with DMLT faculty:

Teaching Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

Design and update course syllabus and curriculum in accordance with educational standards and industry requirements. Develop instructional materials, including lecture notes, laboratory manuals, and online resources.

Classroom and Laboratory Instruction:

Conduct theoretical and practical classes, ensuring students gain hands-on experience with laboratory techniques. Demonstrate proper use of laboratory equipment and safe laboratory practices.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Prepare and grade exams, quizzes, assignments, and laboratory reports. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to facilitate their academic growth.

Student Support and Mentorship:

Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, career opportunities, and professional development. Support students in their preparation for certification exams and job placements.
Administrative Responsibilities

Program Coordination:

Assist in the coordination of the DMLT program, including scheduling classes, organizing laboratory sessions, and maintaining student records. Participate in curriculum review and program accreditation processes.

Committee Participation:

Serve on departmental, college, and university committees, contributing to policy development, strategic planning, and quality assurance.

Resource Management:

Manage laboratory resources, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, and procurement of supplies.
