Job Description

A Medical Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory tests, preparing specimens, and ensuring accurate analysis to support patient care. They assist doctors and healthcare professionals by providing reliable laboratory results for diagnosis and treatment. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Technicians must operate laboratory equipment, maintain records, and follow standardized procedures to ensure quality results in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Collect patient specimens carefully ensuring proper labeling and sample integrity. Perform laboratory tests accurately using modern diagnostic equipment and techniques. Prepare, stain, and examine slides under microscope for analysis. Record and analyze results, maintaining complete documentation and reports. Ensure calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory instruments regularly. Follow safety protocols while handling biohazardous samples and chemicals. Collaborate with doctors and nurses for timely test reporting. Maintain inventory and order supplies to ensure smooth lab operations.

Skill & Experience

Strong knowledge of medical laboratory procedures, tests, and equipment. Attention to detail ensuring accuracy in specimen analysis and reporting. Proficiency in using laboratory software and maintaining digital records. Ability to follow strict safety and infection control guidelines. Good communication skills for interaction with healthcare staff and patients. Problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot laboratory errors efficiently.
