Job Summary

The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and strategic direction to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient care. This role oversees medical staff performance, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and aligns clinical practices with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership

Lead, guide, and support physicians and clinical staff

Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care

Develop, implement, and review clinical policies and protocols

Quality & Safety

Oversee quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Monitor clinical outcomes and address performance gaps

Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards

Administrative & Strategic Duties

Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning

Participate in budgeting, resource allocation, and staffing decisions

Support implementation of new services and technologies

Staff Oversight

Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain medical staff

Resolve clinical and professional issues among providers

Promote continuing medical education and professional development

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure adherence to local, state, and national healthcare regulations

Act as liaison with regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies

Review and manage clinical risk and medico-legal issues

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

Valid medical license and board certification

Minimum 5-10 years of clinical experience

Prior leadership or administrative experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards
