1. Coding: Assigning codes for procedures, diagnoses, and treatment results
2. Document review: Analyzing medical records and identifying deficiencies
3. Compliance: Ensuring codes are sequenced according to government and insurance regulations
4. Communication: Working with other professionals at hospitals and with insurance company representatives
5. Data entry: Inputting data related to coded information and other healthcare data into computer systems
Other requirements
1. Knowledge of coding systems, medical terminology, and anatomy
2. Attention to detail and experience with EHRs are a plus
