Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Cardiology Medical Coder

to join our

RCM healthcare team

. The candidate will be responsible for

accurate coding of cardiology-related procedures, diagnoses, and services

in compliance with

CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines

. The role involves collaborating with physicians, billing teams, and auditors to ensure

maximum reimbursement

and

compliance with payer requirements

.

Key Responsibilities

Assign appropriate

ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes

for all cardiology-related procedures and diagnoses. Review and analyze

patient medical records

, operative notes, and physician documentation for coding accuracy. Ensure compliance with

CMS

,

AAPC

,

AMA

, and

HIPAA

guidelines. Work closely with the

RCM team

to reduce denials and improve

first-pass claim acceptance rates

. Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate with providers to resolve discrepancies. Stay updated on

cardiology coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory changes

. Assist in conducting

internal audits

to maintain coding quality and compliance. Collaborate with billing, payment posting, and denial management teams to ensure accurate and timely claim submissions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

,

Certified Cardiology Coder (CCC)

, or equivalent AAPC/AHIMA certification

mandatory

. Minimum 1

-5 years of experience

in

cardiology medical coding

within an RCM setup. Strong knowledge of

cardiology procedures

including

cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, pacemakers, echocardiograms, and EKGs

. Familiarity with

Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines

. Proficiency in

medical coding software, EHR/EMR systems, and MS Office tools

. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with

US healthcare RCM

processes. Exposure to

denial management

and

coding audits

. Knowledge of

MIPS, MACRA, and other quality reporting requirements

.
