Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications. Review medical records to verify the accuracy of diagnoses and procedures, applying appropriate ICD coding and medical terminology. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes, working closely with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, including claim status updates, payment postings, and correspondence related to accounts receivable. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation supports billing accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Stay current with changes in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and billing regulations to optimize reimbursement processes. Assist in training staff on medical billing procedures, coding updates, and the use of EMR/EHR systems for efficient workflow management.

Requirements

preference Army Ex Service man Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management. Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical coding principles. Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems used for billing and documentation purposes. Knowledge of medical collection processes and insurance claim submission procedures. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in all billing activities. Ability to interpret complex medical records and translate them into precise codes for reimbursement. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
