Role Overview



The

Media Monitoring Analyst

will support the Media & Research Centre by tracking, documenting, and analyzing political information across

print, digital, social, and broadcast media

.

This role offers

real-time exposure to political narratives, opposition tracking, media intelligence, and campaign response mechanisms

. Interns will work closely with senior analysts, content teams, and strategy units to ensure timely flow of verified information throughout the campaign period ending

April 2026

.

Key Responsibilities:


Media Tracking & Documentation



Monitor print, digital news portals, TV channels, and social media platforms for political developments. Track speeches, statements, press meets, and public appearances of political leaders. Prepare concise summaries highlighting key points, tone, and narrative direction. Maintain daily issue trackers capturing trends, viral stories, and emerging narratives.

Social & Digital Media Monitoring



Track trending hashtags, viral posts, influencer commentary, and issue-based discussions on X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Flag early signs of emerging issues, misinformation, or narrative shifts. Archive relevant posts, visuals, clips, and threads for campaign reference.

Print & Broadcast Support



Assist in tracking newspaper coverage, regional editions, and political columns. Support preparation of daily and weekly media summaries on government actions and opposition messaging. Help document tone, sentiment, and prominence of coverage. Assist in monitoring TV debates and panel discussions, noting key arguments and counters.

Insights & Team Coordination



Share media findings with Content, Research, and Strategy teams in a timely manner. Support narrative teams with verified quotes, references, and transcript snippets. Help organize and maintain a structured media repository by topic, leader, and geography.

Preferred Qualifications



Pursuing or completed Bachelor's/Master's degree in

Journalism, Political Science, Communication, Public Policy, Media Studies, or related fields

. Academic exposure or internship experience in

media analysis, reporting, or research

is an advantage. Strong interest in

politics, current affairs, and media narratives

.

Minimum Qualifications



Strong reading and comprehension skills in

Tamil and English

. Ability to summarize large volumes of information clearly and quickly. Good attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure. Basic familiarity with digital platforms and news consumption tools.
