Job Description



You will be responsible for managing a wide gamut of Media and PR-related matters of RoundGlass Sports. The role requires the incumbent to collaborate and liaise proactively with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders like local or national media sports regulatory bodies like AIFF, AFC, etc., and other agencies. The purpose of the role is to positively promote the image of the Club, through a host of communication / media-related tools.

RoundGlass Sports is transforming sports in the state of Punjab by creating an environment that’s both desirable and equitable, building infrastructure, training and motivation through an Academy and Grassroots program to help players reach their full potential.

Our focus is on bringing world class standards to RoundGlass Punjab Football Club and The RoundGlass Sports Academy which will support the development of talent in football, hockey and tennis, underpinned by the principles of wholistic wellbeing.

What you’ll do:

  • Devise and deliver media and public relations plans to support the strategic and operational objectives of PFC and other RG Sports units in alignment with corporate guidelines of RoundGlass
  • Establish and leverage network with the local media and provide regular reports and press releases on news and opportunities related to the Club
  • Oversee, draft, distribute, and follow-up press releases and briefings to the media
  • Assess and identify potential promotional opportunities for the Club
  • Act as spokesperson for the Club and assist in Club-Press relations, including assistance in the management of media obligations for players, staff and other key stakeholders
  • Assist with drafting Club statements and communications with approval from the management, and being on call during required times to deal with fast-developing situations in the media spotlight
  • Ensure the Club is promoted to the public and news and opportunities pertaining to the Club are being distributed to relevant stakeholders through appropriate channels
  • Evaluate and track media coverage of the Club to ensure its alignment with the Company’s vision, mission and objectives

Who we’re looking for:

  • Relevant education in Journalism / Mass Communication / Marketing Communication or a related field
  • Must have at least 5 years of relevant journalistic and reporting experience in the sports domain; work experience related to Football sport ecosystem required
  • Proficient in managing budgets and driving sports Media and PR interventions
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines
  • Creative, persuasive, resilient and able to handle criticism
  • Integrity and professional credibility to process and manage sensitive information
