Job Description


Job - Mechatronics Engineer(E3) Applied Materials\' Mechatronics Team is looking for a Controls Engineer to help develop advanced control solutions for complex systems, including applications in robotics, motion control, and process control. You will design control algorithms, implement them in software, and integrate with hardware. You will play a key role in the development of Applied Materials\' next-generation control solutions to enable higher precision, throughput, and coordination. Key Responsibilities: Mechatronics Engineer will be part of Servo Controls & Mechatronics Group, working on Control System applications in Semiconductor Domain Design, Develop, Implement & Validate advanced Controls for precision equipment, including robotics, motion control, and/or process control Create models of complex systems including both static and dynamic behavior Implement control algorithms in real-time software, with consideration for reliability and user-friendliness Conduct experiments to evaluate control performance and robustness Suggest and carry out practical solutions to solve issues Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and process engineers to integrate and validate final control solution Communicate effectively the design details and test results to a broad audience Coach/mentor new employees and team members Job Requirements Bachelor\'s in Controls & Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics or Mechanical Engineering with Masters in Control Systems/Mechatronics and 7+ years of experience or Ph.D in Control Systems/Mechatronics with 4+ years of experience, preferably from IIT\'s, NIT\'s or similar colleges Sound theoretical & practical knowledge of Control Systems both Motion Controls and Process Controls In-depth knowledge of classical and modern control theory Expertise in Model Based development MATLAB, SIMULINK and Code generation using RTW Software development lifecycle experience & excellent coding in MATLAB and C/C++ Good object oriented programming(OOPS) & Exposure to Visual Studio Environment Complex algorithm development & hands on experience in debugging issues with code/interfaces Experience with building test stands & system validation Servo Tuning & Implementation of different control strategies Working knowledge is Sensors, Actuators and Interfaces - Encoders/Pressure Sensors/Optical Sensors Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization Good to have Exposure to Semiconductor Engineering Environment Exposure in using Version control SW like Clearcase, GIT, etc Software development using Python Machine Learning & AI Qualifications Education: Bachelor\'s DegreeSkills Certifications: Languages: Years of Experience: 4 - 7 YearsWork Experience: Additional Information Travel: Relocation Eligible: No Applied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
