Role Purpose
The purpose of a Boiler Technician is to install, maintain, repair, and inspect boilers and other related systems. They evaluate the overall performance of the system, troubleshoot malfunctions, and diagnose and repair any issues that arise. Boiler Technicians also perform regular maintenance to ensure that all components of the system are functioning properly and safely. They may also be responsible for inspecting and evaluating new boiler systems prior to installation.
Inspect, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial boilers and related equipment
Maintain accurate records of boiler maintenance and repair
Perform routine preventive maintenance on boilers and ancillary equipment
Install new boilers and upgrade existing boilers
Boiler Technician Skills
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose boiler problems
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Familiarity with safety standards and procedures
Knowledge of the latest boiler models and their components
Proficiency in soldering and welding
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Boiler Technician Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and principles
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
