The candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical supervision, manpower handling, and knowledge of conveyor systems or heavy fabrication.
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervision & Execution
Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical activities including fabrication, assembly, and installation of conveyor systems.
Allocate tasks to technicians, welders, and fitters, and monitor progress to meet production schedules.
Ensure compliance with design specifications, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Quality & Safety
Inspect mechanical work for quality and accuracy at every stage of production.
Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies, health standards, and environmental regulations.
Identify potential hazards and take corrective/preventive measures.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Oversee routine maintenance of machines, tools, and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues and ensure timely repairs to avoid downtime.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure machinery availability.
Team Management
Guide, train, and supervise the workforce to improve efficiency and skill levels.
Maintain discipline, resolve worker-related concerns, and ensure a productive work environment.
Monitor attendance, overtime, and manpower utilization effectively.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of daily production activities, manpower allocation, and work progress.
Report production delays, mechanical failures, or resource shortages to management.
Support the Production Manager in planning and process improvements.
Candidate Requirements
Education:
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
Experience:
4-7 years of experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably in conveyors, material handling equipment, or heavy fabrication.
Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, fitting, and conveyor assembly.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
Basic understanding of maintenance practices and mechanical troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
Good leadership and team-handling ability.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
