Job Description

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in mechanical works (preferably in ship repair, marine, or heavy industry). Strong technical knowledge in pumps, engines, piping, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work specifications. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise day-to-day mechanical works such as fitting, assembly, repairs, and testing of equipment. Allocate tasks to technicians, fitters, and helpers ensuring effective use of manpower. Oversee ship repair / refit / newbuilding mechanical activities (pumps, engines, piping, HVAC, hydraulics, etc.). Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Monitor job progress, inspect quality of work, and provide technical guidance to the team. Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other departments for smooth execution of projects. Maintain records of manpower deployment, materials used, and job completion reports. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper upkeep of tools, equipment, and worksite discipline.
