Job Requirements
1.
Qualification:
o
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
o
Certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, TQM, etc.) preferred.
2.
Years of Experience:
o
5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in a manufacturing setup (preferably Fire Extinguishers, Pressure Vessels, Valves, or similar industries).
3.
Technical Skills :
1.
Familiarity with measuring instruments (Vernier, pressure gauge, weighing scale, etc.)
2.
Strong knowledge of ISO, BIS, ISI, and safety compliance standards.
3.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
4.
Proficiency in Mechanical Drawings Reading and Understanding.
5.
Understanding of QMS processes.
6.
Strong observational and analytical skills.
7.
Ability to handle audits and manage customer complaints effectively.
8.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and ERP Systems.
4.
Key Performance Areas :
o
Zero major non-conformance in internal & external audits.
o
Reduction in rejection and rework percentage.
o
On-time closure of customer complaints and CAPA.
o
Continuous improvement implementation in quality systems.
o
Effective training of team members on quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes across the production cycle.
2.
Conduct in-process and final inspections of fire extinguishers, cylinders, valves, and assemblies.
3.
Monitor compliance with BIS, ISI, CE, UL, and other regulatory standards applicable to fire safety products.
4.
Prepare and review inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective/preventive action plans (CAPA).
5.
Documentation: Maintain quality checklists, test reports, NCR reports, and rejection data. Assist in ISO/BIS documentation and audits.
6.
Lead root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
7.
Customer Complaints: Support in investigating customer complaints and preparing feedback reports.
8.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation. Liaise with certification bodies, auditors, and external agencies for audits and product approvals.
9.
Oversee calibration of testing instruments (hydro test machines, pressure gauges, weighing machines, etc.)..
10.
Train and mentor junior quality engineers, inspectors, and shop-floor staff on quality standards and best practices.
11.
Monitor and analyze quality KPIs - rejection rate, rework cost, customer complaints, supplier quality
12.
Support supplier quality management by conducting vendor audits and incoming material inspections.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma practices).
