The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems and process equipment used in upstream, midstream, or downstream operations. You will play a key role in improving process efficiency, reliability, and safety while ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational best practices.
Provide mechanical and process engineering support for the design, operation, and optimization of oil & gas processing facilities (e.g., separation units, pipelines, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, etc.).
Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate process conditions, pressure drops, heat transfer, and equipment sizing.
Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and process specifications.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (process, instrumentation, electrical, civil) to support project execution from concept through commissioning.
Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical and process failures, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Assist in the selection and specification of mechanical equipment (e.g., vessels, tanks, piping systems, rotating machinery).
Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and risk assessments to ensure safe and efficient process design.
Contribute to plant modifications (MOCs) and debottlenecking projects to improve performance.
Support maintenance and operations teams by troubleshooting performance issues and providing technical solutions.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ISO), and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
Experience:
3-5 years in process design and engineering within the oil & gas, refinery, or storage terminal sectors.
Software Skills:
Aspen HYSYS, Pro II, AFT Fathom, Pipenet, Flaresim, MS Office, AutoCAD Plant 3D/E3D for model review.
Knowledge of Standards:
API (520/521/650/2000/2350), NFPA (11/15/20/30), EEMUA 159, ISGOTT, ISO.
Languages:
Fluent English; French is an advantage.
