Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical systems within our facility. This role requires strong leadership qualities, project management skills, and a solid understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical systems. The Maintenance Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and infrastructure, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.

Duties

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment across the facility. Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and PLC programming knowledge. Lead maintenance projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Supervise junior team members and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose faults accurately. Manage spare parts inventory and order necessary components for repairs and upgrades. Implement safety procedures during all maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with management to develop preventative maintenance schedules that optimise equipment performance. Document all maintenance work accurately in company records and maintenance management systems.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance with a strong understanding of electrical systems. Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a team environment. Knowledge of project management principles applied within maintenance operations. Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Management experience or training is advantageous but not essential. Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical or electrical engineering are preferred.
