company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.
Digantara is seeking a motivated
Mechanical Intern
to assist in the design and development of mechanical and opto-mechanical systems for our cutting-edge mechanical systems for ground and space-based applications. As a new graduate, you will work alongside experienced engineers to:
Support Design Efforts:
Contribute to the design of mechanical and opto-mechanical systems, focusing on Space Surveillance Telescopes.
Learn and Apply Simulations:
Use mechanical simulations to help validate the performance of these designs.
Collaborate and Grow:
Work with a team of skilled engineers to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in mechanical engineering.
Why us?
Competitive incentives, galvanizing workspace, blazing team, frequent outings--pretty much everything that you have heard about a startup, plus more of the satellite/rocket stuff--perhaps handling a satellite or leaning on a rocket.
Hustle in a well-funded startup with a flat hierarchy that allows you to take charge of your responsibilities and create your own moonshot.
We are ideally looking for candidates who:
Have a Strong Foundation in Mechanical Engineering:
A basic understanding of mechanical systems, with coursework or projects involving R&D, is a plus.
Are Eager to Learn and Grow:
Willingness to develop skills in designing mechanical systems for space applications.
Possess Analytical Abilities:
Basic knowledge of finite element analysis and calculations.
Are Team-Oriented:
Ability to collaborate effectively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Have Enthusiasm for the Field:
Passion for space technology and telescope systems, with a keen interest in applying mechanical engineering principles to innovative projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Requirements:
Basic CAD Skills:
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for geometry preparation.
Simulation Tools:
Some experience or coursework with simulation tools like ANSYS, Nastran, SolidWorks, or COMSOL is a plus, but not mandatory.
