Job Description

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical equipment and heavy machinery used in coal mining operations. This includes ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pumps, conveyors, crushers, loaders, trucks, and other plant or underground equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of heavy machinery such as conveyors, crushers, pumps, loaders, and haulage systems. Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Lead a team of mechanics and technicians, assign tasks, and monitor performance. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical faults in mining machinery. Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment logs. Coordinate with electrical, production, and safety departments for smooth operation. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and mining standards. Manage spare parts inventory and requisition of maintenance materials. Participate in breakdown maintenance and emergency repairs when required. Report daily and weekly maintenance status to management.
