to lead the mechanical maintenance and operations of our
Dewatering Division
. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine systems, centrifugal and vacuum pumps, and hydraulic equipment. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, managing preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of all dewatering machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and servicing of diesel-powered dewatering equipment, including centrifugal and vacuum pumps.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to diesel engines, hydraulics, and pumping systems.
Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of dewatering systems at job sites.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, spare parts usage, and machine history.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations at all times.
Manage inventory of mechanical spares and coordinate with procurement for timely stock replenishment.
Train and guide junior technicians and mechanics to improve technical competency and safety awareness.
Liaise with project teams and site engineers to plan and execute dewatering operations efficiently.
Report daily, weekly, and monthly activity and maintenance logs to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in dewatering, preferably in a construction, mining, or infrastructure environment.
In-depth knowledge of diesel engines (brands such as Cummins, Kirloskar, Perkins, etc.).
Hands-on experience with centrifugal and vacuum pumps (e.g., Pioneer, BBA, Gorman-Rupp).
Familiarity with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting of mechanical-hydraulic failures.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel and work in remote project locations as required.
Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, maintenance software tools).
Preferred:
Experience with dewatering systems used in deep excavations, tunneling, or municipal projects.
Knowledge of basic electrical systems in pump operation and control panels.
