Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly and Fitting:

Install, fit, and assemble mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery based on technical drawings and specifications. Perform mechanical assembly tasks like welding, riveting, bolting, and aligning parts.

Welding and Fabrication:

Execute welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and Arc welding for the fabrication or repair of mechanical parts and structures. Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using welding techniques and other fabrication methods. Ensure welded joints meet specific standards for strength and durability.

Maintenance and Repair:

Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery to ensure their proper functioning. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify faults, and perform necessary repairs.

Inspection and Quality Checks:

Perform quality control checks on welded joints, mechanical parts, and systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded seams, joints, and other mechanical components. Use measurement tools and gauges to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

Testing and Commissioning:

Test equipment and machinery after assembly or repairs to ensure functionality and safety. Conduct pressure, load, and stress tests as required to verify equipment performance.

Technical Support and Documentation:

Provide technical assistance during the installation and commissioning of new machinery or systems. Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and blueprints. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inspections, and quality checks completed.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow strict safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure proper handling of tools and equipment, adhering to all safety standards related to welding and mechanical tasks.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Welding Expertise:

Knowledge of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welding. Ability to perform quality checks on welded joints, including visual and dimensional inspections.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools, machinery, and measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical schematics, and blueprints.

Problem-Solving:

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and repair mechanical faults efficiently.

Attention to Detail:

High level of precision when fitting and assembling mechanical components, especially during welding and fabrication tasks.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy machinery or components as needed.

Safety Awareness:

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in welding and mechanical work environments.
