Description Manages professional employees (jobs that typically fall on the B/E band) and/or supervisors. Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own job family. Adapts business unit, department, site or sub-function plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Need Strong Product design Experience in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing processes. Work with global teams to design sub systems / systems of process chambers used in semiconductor equipment industry using Semi standard. Key Responsibilities Manages an engineering group with specific responsibility for mechanical systems and equipment design function, staffing, technical mentoring as required within the engineering group, staff professional and personal development, developing and sustaining supervisors/technical leaders for key areas of responsibility, and budget adherence. Also, technically lead and/or execute engineering projects/programs Ensures customer satisfaction via on time delivery of product releases in accordance with predetermined requirements and prompt resolution of significantly complex issues of complex scope Ensures the integration of engineering resources with cross functional teams to meet product goals of complex scope Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues for entire range of products Reviews product requirements and contributes expertise and judgment throughout the product development processes Spearheads research and development of new technologies and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated within Applied Materials, as appropriate Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/programs costs, resource utilization, and timeless completion Establishes operational objectives and assignments, and effectively delegate assignments to subordinate staff. Responsible for professional development, team building, defining organizational roles, hiring and retention. Problem identification, define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports and troubleshooting a variety of difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering concept/layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope Provide solution to a variety of engineering problems involving gas flow, thermal management, and structural strength. Experience in quartz, SiC, O-rings materials selection, understanding of pyrometry in high temperature & vacuum/ATM CVD semiconductor reactors. Knowledge of close loop control systems Product Design & Drafting of Machined/Structural/fabricated/ Sheet metal components using CAD tools (UG NX, Inventor) Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision. Analyze simple FEA problems / hand calculations. Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers. Generate mechanical product specifications. Responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Establishes standards across all operational processes Specify and review engineering documentation Implements concepts for variety of complex product issues and mechanical solutions Functional Knowledge Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines Knowledge of mechanical engineering design, Heat Transfer, should have understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T/ASME standards, Materials & Manufacturing processes, Numerical Methods, Auto CAD, TCE, UG NX/Inventor and analysis Good knowledge on materials - ferrous & non-ferrous metals, Ceramics Business Expertise Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Master\'s degree preferred 7 - 10 Years of Experience Previous work experience to include mechanical engineering experience in a product development and manufacturing environment. Semiconductor equipment industry preferred.
