Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Piping & Structure
Reports To: Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer (Piping & Structure) to support engineering, design, and project execution related to piping systems and structural components. The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D modeling, stress analysis, material selection, and familiarity with international codes and standards. This role will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Piping Engineering:
Design and layout of piping systems, including preparation of P&IDs, isometrics, and GA drawings.
Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II or similar software.
Selection of piping materials and preparation of Material Take-Off (MTO).
Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate with process, instrumentation, and civil teams for routing and clash resolution.
Provide input to construction and commissioning teams.
Structural Engineering:
Design of pipe supports, platforms, skids, and structural steel frameworks.
Perform static and dynamic structural analysis using software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ANSYS).
Ensure compliance with structural design codes (e.g., AISC, IS, Eurocodes).
Prepare structural fabrication and erection drawings.
Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech / B.E.)
5-8 years of experience in piping and structural design (entry-level positions may require less)
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAESAR II, STAAD.Pro, PV Elite, Navisworks, etc.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.1, API, ASTM, AISC)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in EPC or EPCM projects.
Familiarity with 3D model review sessions using tools like SmartPlant, PDMS, or E3D.
Exposure to fabrication and installation procedures.
Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection methods
