Mechanical Engineer

Tank Construction Industry Mechanical / Construction / Fabrication

Experience :

5-8 years

of relevant experience in

tank fabrication and erection

within a mechanical construction company. Experience in

oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy fabrication projects

preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, design, and oversee

fabrication and erection of storage tanks

(fixed roof, floating roof, pressure vessels, etc.). Review

technical drawings, specifications, and engineering standards

for tank construction projects. Prepare and check

BOQ (Bill of Quantities), material requirements, and equipment lists

. Supervise

fabrication, welding, cutting, rolling, and assembly processes

at the workshop/site. Ensure compliance with

API 650 / API 653 / ASME standards

for tank design and construction. Coordinate with

clients, contractors, and project teams

to ensure timely project execution. Monitor and maintain

quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)

documentation. Conduct

hydro testing, pneumatic testing, and inspection

of tanks. Ensure compliance with

safety regulations and site safety protocols

. Troubleshoot technical issues during

erection, commissioning, and maintenance

.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

tank fabrication, erection, and welding processes

. Familiarity with

piping, structural supports, and mechanical systems

. Proficiency in

Auto CAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software

. Knowledge of

international codes & standards (API, ASME, ASTM, IS codes)

. Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualification & Experience:

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

(or Diploma with experience).
