Job Summary

We're hiring a

Mechanical Engineer (Construction)

to support the design, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems for commercial/industrial construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, contractors, architects, and field teams to ensure HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical scopes are designed and installed safely, efficiently, and according to code.

Responsibilities

Design and review mechanical systems for construction projects (HVAC, plumbing, piping, mechanical equipment layouts) Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and submittals Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical teams, and contractors Support project planning, schedules, and technical problem-solving in the field Conduct site visits to verify installation progress and resolve design conflicts Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements Assist with cost estimates, material selections, and constructability reviews Support commissioning, testing, and project closeout documentation
Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within construction or MEP Understanding of construction processes and mechanical system installation Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams

Preferred:

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting/design tools Familiarity with ASHRAE standards, IMC, IPC, local building codes Experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects
