Job Description

About the Position
The Engineer will be exposed to the complete design process from ideation to product realization. He / she will create solutions for NPD or enhancements to existing products using engineering fundamentals, technical analysis, risk assessments and verification testing. He / she will also ensure successful design transfer into the manufacturing area / supply chain.
Must be persistent and have strong problem-solving skills. He / she should also be creative to generate innovative ideas and bring them to fruition.

Key Responsibilities
To build, design and develop mechanical sub-systems for electro-mechanical devices and accessories.
Develop new design solutions & drive innovation, hands-on prototyping and feasibility testing of design concepts.
Identify, evaluate and drive development projects with suppliers and partners.
Deliver design solutions with proper validation & verification in line with regulatory requirements.
Responsible for part lifecycle management of mechanical parts & sub-systems. Create & maintain design documentation (BOM's, Specifications, Drawings).
Follow Design Control procedures for medical devices to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Supports internal and external regulatory audits. Facilitates cross functional problem solving and initiates solutions for continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Minimum 2 years of product development experience in Medical or Automotive or similar.
Proven ability to independently apply deep technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
Required to have experience in complete product lifecycle i.e. from product conceptualization to design,development and manufacturing.
Strong design skills. Exposure to CAD/CAE tools (Solid works, Creo etc.)
Good understanding of general manufacturing processes like injection molding, welding, thermoforming, casting & machining.
Knowledgeable on design for manufacture and comfortable working with FRP and sheet metal components.
Experience in Vendor management, component/material selection, prototyping and verification testing.
