Job Description

An MEP engineer designs, installs, and maintains Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects, ensuring their proper integration, functionality, and compliance with building codes and client specifications. Key responsibilities include creating technical designs for HVAC, power, and water systems, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with architects and contractors, and overseeing the quality and efficiency of installed systems. Key Responsibilities:

Design and Planning:

Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical (e.g., HVAC), electrical (power and lighting), and plumbing systems.

System Integration:

Work with architects and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into building designs.

Cost Estimation:

Prepare and review cost estimates for MEP scopes of work.

Installation Oversight:

Supervise the installation of MEP systems on-site to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Compliance and Regulations:

Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations.

Coordination and Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Maintenance and Sustainability:

Contribute to the design of systems that are energy-efficient, sustainable, and easy to maintain.

Quality Control:

Inspect installations and test systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet quality requirements.
Key Skills:

Proficiency in MEP design software and tools. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles. Excellent problem-solving and technical skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
