- Mechanical Draftsman

Job Title: Mechanical Draftsman Department: Engineering Location: Chennai Reports To: Engineering Lead / Plant Head Job Summary: We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsmen to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidates should have strong experience in mechanical drafting using SolidWorks and should be capable of preparing detailed drawings for manufacturing, assembly, and design validation.

Key Responsibilities:

Create 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks based on design inputs

Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings with GD&T standards

Update and revise existing designs and drawings as per engineering changes

Work closely with design engineers and production teams for drawing approvals

Maintain drawing documentation and version control

Ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements

Support prototype and pilot build activities by preparing required drawings and documents

Qualifications:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field

2-5 years of experience in mechanical drafting (preferably in automotive or utility equipment industry)

Proficient in SolidWorks (2D & 3D), with knowledge of PDM preferred

Understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes

Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with sheet metal, welding structures, and fabrication drawings

Experience with BOM generation and basic ERP entry

Knowledge of material selection and fitment conditions

Employment Type: Full-time CTC : As per company standards and experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
