We are a Canada-based engineering and fabrication business specializing in stainless steel process equipment including tanks, skidded systems, and piping solutions. We are expanding our design team and seeking a skilled CAD designer to assist in creating technical drawings and supporting component-level design analysis.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for:
Stainless steel tanks
Process piping layouts
Modular skidded systems
Structural support frames
Prepare manufacturing-ready fabrication drawings including weld details, BOMs, nozzle schedules, etc.
Work with advanced
SolidWorks tools
including:
Sheet Metal
(including flat pattern development)
Weldments
(structural frame design)
Routing
(pipes and tubing)
Configurations and custom components
Assist in the
design and analysis
of tank components such as:
Mixer mounts
Tank vents
CIP sprayballs
Overflow and drain systems
Generate
flat pattern layouts
for laser cutting and fabrication.
Support design improvements, revisions, and modifications based on feedback or field conditions.
Collaborate with our Canadian engineering lead via Zoom/WhatsApp/Email for coordination and review.
Requirements:
Proficient in
SolidWorks 3D modeling
and
2D drafting
Skilled in
AutoCAD
(2D & 3D drafting)
Ability to create
universal sheet formats and drawing templates
for standardization across projects
Experience developing
fabrication drawings
for tanks, skids, frames, and process equipment
Strong understanding of
piping layouts
,
routing assemblies
, and
piping components
(elbows, tees, valves, ferrules, clamps, etc.)
Knowledge of
, and translate them into 3D assemblies
Understanding of
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
and
shop-friendly detailing
Strong
organizational
and
file management skills
for maintaining drawing standards
Good understanding of
sheet metal
,
tank fabrication
, and
piping design principles
Experience with
mechanical drawings
,
GD&T
, and
fabrication standards
Ability to
read and interpret process schematics
and
structural layouts
Strong
communication skills
in English
Proactive
,
self-motivated
, and committed to
meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design
Experience in the
food/pharma/chemical industry equipment
design
Familiarity with
ASME standards
, sanitary fittings, or skid-based systems
Knowledge of FEA or tank design codes (an asset but not required)
Compensation:
Based on experience and engagement type (hourly/fixed/project-based). Competitive rates for qualified candidates.
