Salary:

?60,000 - ?70,000 per month (Depending on interview & experience)

Role Summary

The Mechanical Design Head will lead and manage the mechanical design function for electrical control panels and switchgear assemblies. The role involves design development, team coordination, and ensuring manufacturability, quality, and timely execution of mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities

Head and manage the mechanical design department for electrical control panels and switchgear. Design and development of

MCC, PCC, APFC, PLC, RTCC Panels, Marshalling Boxes

, etc. Preparation and approval of

2D drawings using SCADA, AutoCAD

for panel enclosures and assemblies.

Sheet metal design & development

for CNC turret punch, bending, and fabrication. Knowledge of

nesting, punch patterns, and optimization of sheet metal usage

. Coordination with

electrical design, production, and purchase teams

for smooth execution. Ensure designs are compliant with

manufacturing feasibility, safety, and quality standards

. Support shop floor during fabrication and assembly for design-related issues. Standardization of mechanical components, enclosures, and drawings. Review and approve mechanical drawings prepared by the design team. Continuous improvement in design efficiency, cost reduction, and lead time.

Experience & Knowledge Required

Minimum

6+ years of experience

in

Electrical Control Panel / Switchgear Industry

. Strong hands-on experience in

mechanical design of control panels

. Good knowledge of

sheet metal fabrication processes

. Experience in

CNC turret punch, bending, welding, and assembly

. Knowledge of

switchgear panel construction standards

. Leadership capability to guide and mentor junior design engineers.

Skills Required

Proficiency in SCADA,

AutoCAD (mandatory)

. Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Good coordination and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
