Job Description

A Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs, models, and drawings used in the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and products. They collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed

3D CAD models

, assemblies, and engineering drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, or Inventor. Develop

mechanical components, systems, and layouts

based on engineering specifications and project requirements. Perform

tolerance analysis

,

fits and finishes

, and ensure designs meet industry standards and safety regulations. Prepare

BOMs (Bills of Materials)

, technical documentation, and revision-controlled drawings. Review and update drawings to support

design changes, improvements, and manufacturing feedback

. Work with engineers to conduct

design reviews

, evaluate test results, and implement design optimizations. Support prototype builds and coordinate with suppliers, machinists, and fabrication teams. Utilize

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

for precision detailing. Ensure all designs are

manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant

with applicable standards. Provide support during product lifecycle stages, including

R&D, production, and quality assurance
