Design Engineer

Qualification:

Diploma (Mechanical) / B.E (Mechanical) with 2 plus years experience in SPM / Automation design.

SKILLS REQUIRED &

Solid works expert. Able to comprehend the customer requirement and understands the technical scope of the Project. Able to discuss and contribute to the project framework confidently. Exhibits thorough knowledge on concepts and their appropriate application. Responsible for generating part numbers and identifying mechanical part numbers in accordance with the material finishes and identify supplier /manufacturer for the same. Responsible for creation of 2D drawings to allow manufacture or purchase Responsible for production of Customer Procurement (CP) drawings for new products Responsible for generation of Assembly drawings and bills of materials for machined components, and fabricated components, weldments cut list for purchased components. Responsible for meeting design to cost figures Exhibits clear understanding of the components, fabrication and fixtures and able to identify required component sources, availability and appropriately uses them in the drawings. Liaises with other departments to ensure that the required information is available when needed and customer requests are dealt with in a timely manner Able to appropriately identify and use 3D models from library for all machined, fabricated and purchased components, thereby saving time. Proficiently uses 3d sketch and weld elements structure tool. Able to define material property in the attribute of 3 d model. Can deal with abstract ideas. Able to conceptualize from Ideation stage after though analysis of the pros and cons and is able to design the project concept with clarity which receives approval with no /minor suggestions. Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost Responsible for preparing and presenting mechanical designs at design reviews If required, generates minutes from Design Reviews Ensures design files and information are kept up to date, and stored in accordance with departmental procedures Highlights all mechanical technical risks to the Engineering Manager Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawing standards Sets goals and uses time effectively to achieve performance outcomes. Prioritizes and, apportions time appropriately for the task in hand. Identifies additional resources, works in an organized manner and completes commitments on time Follows departmental processes relating to management of designs Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner Ensures the mechanical design output fits in with all other aspects of the design Works closely with operations, manufacturing and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture Responsible for reporting progress of all assigned tasks to the Engineering Manager and Project Management teams Creation of technical reports and documentation as required Is available for onsite customer support (presentations and fault finding) as required Take technical lead on specific projects and agree technical approach with the Engineering manager Responsible for checking drawing/parts libraries are up to date and correct regularly Is willing to interact with customers during installation and after sale service, treats customers with dignity and respect. Volunteers to travel to customer site when need arises. Strives to delivers products beyond customer expectations Keen when using Organizational resources, uses discretion and balances on cost of components without compromising on quality. Reduces wastage and adopts cost saving measures Responds with prudence under pressure, Is willing to take personal risks to advance new ideas; has to courage to commit resources based on a blend of analysis and intuition. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
