Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop concepts for special-purpose machines (SPM) and automation equipment. Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor. Perform calculations for mechanical strength, tolerance, fits, and GD&T. Select suitable mechanical elements (actuators, bearings, gears, motors, pneumatic/hydraulic elements, etc.). Collaborate with the electrical, controls, and production teams for end-to-end machine development. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety norms, and customer requirements. Conduct design reviews and support the fabrication & assembly team during machine building. Provide BOM (Bill of Materials) and documentation for procurement and manufacturing. Troubleshoot and provide design support during machine installation and commissioning. Continuously improve designs for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in SPM / automation industry). Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor (knowledge of simulation tools is an advantage). Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and machining practices. Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion systems. Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
